SBW rules.I can't seem to listen to anything but Sonny Boy. Nobody can play the harp quite like him.People don't talk that much about his voice because his harp playing was so great but what a voice he had. Man,I love that cats music.

What a wonderful tribute to such an all-time great! I love the music of Sonny Boy Williamson and have collected his records for years. As you will already know, he made a huge impact in Great Britain in the early '60's and even though I was not born at the time I was attracted instantly to the sound of the Sonny Boy harp. I hope that this great site can also help shed further light on his mysterious origins and whether any material was recorded prior to his Trumpet debut. Good luck and thanks.

Sonny Boy is one of the main influences on my harmonica playing, particularly the acoustic albums he recorded on the Delmark [actually Storyville/Alligator] label whem he toured Britain and Europe in the 1960's. I never got to see him live, but I am a close friend of a guy who worked as his minder while he was in Birmingham. He bought for Sonny Boy some shirts from a local outfitters, also a briefcase for his harps. Sonny Boy gave him a 12 hole Hohner 365 in Eb, which he still has. Great web site. I'm sure I'll visit again. Best wishes to all fellow Sonny Boy fans.
