Yes, Professor, you're right! I now know more than anyone really needs to about Sonny Boy...you've got a marvellous site and your dedication is to be praised! And he was indeed a marvelous player, a walking contradiction, and a highly influential artist/ Kudos, too, to Chris Barber, the wonderful UK bandleader who had the savvy and the smarts (and the money and influence) to bring him to Britain in the first place. Chris Barber: Now THERE'S a man who doesn't get the credit he deserves for bringing the blues to Britain, and paving the way for the acceptance of blues in Europe, and helping create a whole new take on pop music....

Cool sight! I love Sonny Boy Williamson's music and lyrics. One of my all-time favorite Mississippi Delta/Chicago bluesmen. (I must give a little credit to Tony Glover; he wrote the blues harmonica tutorial book in which I read about Sonny Boy. Glover called Sonny Boy, along with Kenneth Patchen, on of "... the greatest poets..." I have to agree. I don't play much harp anymore, but I still play guitar. A few of Sonny Boy's tunes have been in my folk club set for years.
